Question / Help Display issue with Amcrest IP2M-842B

Hi all, I just got OBS working with my IP2M-842B wireless webcam, which is about 4 feet from my computer, and now I have it streaming on YouTube, which is nice. It provides a great clear picture, but periodically while watching on YouTube, part of the image has vertical multi-coloured lines that only last for a few seconds, then it returns to normal. It might do it again in a minute or two, or 5, but rarely 5 minutes goes by before it does it again. The camera is now fairly old by today's standards but I don't want to get rid of it because it's a great camera. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

It's on both YouTube and in OBS. I think it's because my camera is wireless. YouTube is just showing what the camera does, so I've sort of narrowed it down to the camera. I don't think it's the fault of OBS.

Also, how do I prevent OBS from timing out? Say if I leave the house in the morning and want to monitor my camera for part of the day on YouTube, when I go back to YouTube during the day, it's timed-out and won't connect.

I would try using VLC as an intermediary by using it as your client for the IP camera, and then either doing a window or display capture to get VLC, or, if you can install an old version of VLC (2.2) you can use VLC as a direct source in OBS.

My understanding is that when you use a media source in OBS to connect to an IP cam, connections break and OBS does not attempt to reconnect. I believe VLC is a more reliable client for connections from an IP camera.
