Bug Report Display cropping: no left and top cropping

I try to avoid streaming a compete display but for broadcasting photo editing in Adobe Lightroom window capture won't work because of the way Adobe draws its panels. So I went for display capture and tried to crop it manually.

Entering values in bottom and right crop work as expected, but a value entered in top crop does crop from the bottom, and entering a vale in left crop does crop from the right. Am I missing something here?

(no log file given as anyone can see this behavior using the same method I bet)
 
I'm confused, the cropping seems to be working fine, both via the properties of display capture and via a crop effect filter. Is there a way you could show us an example of the problem you mean?
 
Cropping a display does work fine when you use the "Manual" cropping option, but try it with the "To window and manual" option and you will see the behavior I was experiencing.
 
Strange, I'm still not able to replicate the problem. What version of OSX?
 
It happened in Mac OS X 10.8.5 but I upgraded to Yosemite 10.10.3 this weekend and it is still there. If I enter 100 in cropping left or cropping right, both times it crops 100 pixels away from the right. Sorry.
 
I tested it using a crop filter (instead of cropping in the capture settings) and yes, that worked as advertised. It did crash OBS once but the 2nd time it went well, so I can now do what I want. Still I would look into cropping without the filter (or just remove it as a filter is available).
 
Well I don't mean the crop filter, I mean with properties of display capture, using "To Window and Manual" right?
 
Well it's not fine. Maybe you could do teamviewer with me some time (though I rarely do this with people)? Come by chat if you ever have time, and if I'm around I'll take a look.
 
I'm having the same issue, but it's with my webcam/video capture device.
 
Fast forward to Feb 2021 and I was having the same problem with a media source until i fit that source to screen. Before that the top and Left crop did nothing. I tried both as a filter and in transform. Right and bottom worked fine. Once I clicked on "fit to screen" all crop functionbs worked fine.
