Display capture screen flicker Mac

I'm currently running OBS 28.1.3 on OSX Monterey. I have a PDF open in preview which I use as an overlay for presenting. I use this for the Virtual Cam function. I see flickering of the captured window, every now and then. It disappears (not to black, to transparent) and reappears. Fractions of seconds.

Note: I'm not using window capture, I'm using display capture, as I've read that window capture is buggy as hell. I do use the auto crop to the window selection. I also tried it with manual crop, the problems seems less prevalent but still happens.

What could be causes here?

I have the same problem on OS Monterey. I was using window capture for streaming a game, but it was super laggy and dropping frames. Switching to display capture solved that problem, but now I've noticed that the screen flickers occasionally (maybe once every 2-3 minutes). Would love to get a solution. Note that all the issues are only happening inside the OBS capture, not on my display. The game runs perfectly.

Yeah I have this issue on the newest ver of obs and catalina. Nothing fixes it but full display capture with a "crop filter"
But thats awful because I can't use half my screen because it needs to run this dumb giant overlay app i made for streaming.... flickers all the time. it sucks
