Hi

I am new(ish) to OBS and I have OBS installed on a new dell g7 machine - so i have 3 screens possible and I am using all 3.

I have OBS picking up the extended screens but not the main laptop screen. The display capture shows:

display 1 1920x1080 - 0,0
display 2, 3840*2160 - 1920, 0
display 3, 1920*1080, 570, 388

Nothing I do seems to give me OBS on display 1.

I'm missing something obvious aren't I??

Any suggestions please. :-)

cheers
Kaz

Normally on a laptop, if you're trying to use Display Capture that runs through the integrated GPU (for power savings, it is a laptop after all). Extended/external monitors may run off the discrete GPU. To capture the main laptop screen with a Display Capture, you'll likely have to set OBS to run on the integrated GPU. Here's instructions on how to do that:

As a side note, Display Capture should only ever be used as an absolute last resort; it's the least-performant of all the capture methods, and can cause major problems. If you can capture a program with Game or Window Capture, that's the way you generally want to go. Also, running on the integrated GPU so you can use Display Capture will disable Game/Window capture, and may disable Display Capture on your external monitors (if they run on the discrete GPU). One of the many reasons a laptop is not recommended for livestreaming purposes.
