Disconnecting and Reconnecting on Facebook Live

I am streaming my church service. A problem has reared it's ugly head last night when attempting to stream our Christmas eve service and it's doing it again this morning. Whenever I click start streaming OBS never really connects to Facbook. It constantly disconnects and reconnects. The network at the church is up and stable. I am on the network now. I have rebooted the internet modem, as well as our Wi-Fi router. Has anyone run into this? Is it Facebook or OBS?

One other note. In looking at the logs I do not see an error code. I also just tried to stream on YouTube and got the same effect.

Don't ignore the BIG RED warning about NOT recording to MP4... there is no good reason to do so. MP4 is NOT safe for recording. remux aafterwards if need be (on my system an 11GB MKV takes less than 20s to remux to MP4)

Means you are connecting, but you have insufficient bandwidth

So what else is going on in the local area network? if someone in the parish office running a PC backup to the cloud? or malware on something? or something on guest WiFi network ?
time for some network monitoring of LAN and WAN connection
I'm guessing you are saying Internet up and stable because you try web browsing, (which is content download), the issue for streaming is available upload bandwidth

the issue could also be something else running in the background on the OBS PC.

Thanks Aaron. Though for all, beware mis-interpreting the results of a SpeedTest. Such test are highly optimistic, vs the metrics important to livestreaming, which is the lowest sustained upload threshold (as well as jitter). So a SpeedTest is a good starting reference point (I use that test as well), but the upload results rarely (almost never) mean the rate you can stream at. And results can vary over time

Personally, I'd start with logging onto the router and seeing overall WAN traffic levels (primarily outbound/upload). And I'd have this available during service. Then again, if issue persists across multiple platforms, even when almost no one is around, then I'd start make sure some network devices/computers not using unexpected network traffic, and that includes the OBS PC. This includes making sure 'neighbors' aren't unexpectedly using Guest WiFi?

log shows Ethernet connected OBS PC. But you mentioned WiFi... is your Internet connection wired part of the way, then using something like a WiFi bridge? in which case you could have WiFi contention/interference issues

Of course. But if it shows that you have, say, 10Mbps down and 1Mbps up like my home service, then you're probably not going to stream 4k60 on that! Perfectly fine for watching YouTube though, at 1080p30.
