Disable desktop audio device option

Any chance of an option to disable Desktop audio in the drop down menu in audio settings?
While still allowing sound from a capture card.

This is a bug in 0.472b and below, and is fixed in the latest test versions.

I always use the latest test build, currently using 0.48.014. I am unable to see an option in Desktop Audio Device to disable sound, It only lists my sound devices.

Desktop audio cannot be disabled (currently) due to the way the audio system is coded, though the recently updated audio subsystem may allow for this now, so I'll give some thought about implementing it in the future.

Sorry for the necro, but why hasn't this been implemented yet? It's a pain to have to demux audio so it's easier to edit, plus it should help with the performance.

This is possible in the OBS rewrite.

Is this really still not an option? I want to use my computer as normal and not have everything interfere with my recording.

Like I said, you can do it in the Multiplatform version. This functionality won't be added to the original OBS. Development for the original OBS has all but ceased.
