Disable Chat

Thank you but that just turns it off in my interface on OBS, right? I want to disable viewers the ability to chat on my Twitch stream. Is there a way to do that?

Correct.
You would have to contact Twitch about that, as Twitch's website is not controlled by OBS, or the OBS Project.
But no. As far as I am aware, you cannot disable chatting entirely.
You CAN set subscriber-only chat even as a non-partner/affiliate, as far as I know, but Moderators, VIPs, any Subscribers you may have, and Staff will still be able to chat. Google for how to do that, it is outside OBS Support's scope. Should be easy to find though. :)
 
So, question, when the chat window in OBS is not being viewed; is your user account in chat? And does that affect using other apps like Chatty or the twitch chat clients?
