Question / Help Differentiating between multiple game clients

Hello,

I generally run multiple clients of EVE Online at once, and if I try to stream, OBS seems to be unable to differentiate between which EVE client is which, causing me to have to close and reopen the clients until it grabs the correct one. Is there any way to make it lock on to a single instance?

Yes, changing the window title of each individual EVE Online client. Which you would have to do with a third party tool and I'm not sure EVE Online will allow you to do that, as it is somewhat invasive. Not sure about any hackshields in EVE Online but if there is one, it may trip over you changing the title of its window.

The window titles are already different - "EVE - Character Name" is how they display. OBS can't seem to tell the difference between the two, even still.

OBS prefers classname over title name, so most likely all the windows have the same classname. I've been meaning to redo the window detection code for a while since it's still a little glitchy and inflexible for cases like this.

That is quaint though, as I have been able to successfully capture multiple instances of the same window simply by changing their name, not their class. Apparently that is not entirely fool proof either.

Either way, it could still be worth a shot.

http://www.murgee.com/window-title-changer/ -- is the tool I used to change the window name/title. Just try it and see if it works. WTC however does not store any records across sessions.

Window Title Changer doesn't seem to do anything for me ... I can swap back and forth between the two in the source select but it only ever stays on the same client.

Hopefully R1CH figures out how to fix that in the future, it's the only complaint I've had about OBS thus far. Thanks for the replies.
