Differences between OBS WIndows and Linux

I have the latest OBS on both my Windows machine and my Linux machine, because I would like to have the ability to stream from either computer. I'm noticing quite a lot of difference in functionality between OBS on the two operating systems. There are small things that are different, like the options on the text source are very different, but there's a MAJOR one in that on Linux you can only connect to Twitch with a stream key and there is no way to disconnect, while under Windows you can log in, which opens up the ability to dock Twitch chat, activities, etc. and there's a way of disconnecting from a service.

Is this intentional?
Are the codebases really that separate?
Is there a reason those things can't be implemented in Linux?
Thanks

The browser dock code is platform-dependent, so it requires a little extra work. X especially can be very picky.

As of OBS 27, service integration & custom browser docks will be supported on macOS & Linux.
