Did v 27 break my setup?

Short answer, it would appear so.
I had things running, relatively smoothly, prior to the update, but now everything is just a mess. My transition script doesn't work, transitions are not even there, and capture devices/the main camera, can't be adjusted per scene. It looks like when I adjust it on one scene, it's duplicated on another. I've tried creating different devices as opposed to using an existing one. What happened? I'm very frustrated and disappointed at the moment as getting it to the point I had it took a long time.
Do i have to start completely fresh removing all previous scenes and collections or is this salvageable?
Please let me know,
SG80

27 is broken af. Had to roll back to 26 and re-do my whole damn setup, couldn't salvage anything because settings went blank.

I don't understand how it even hit release, it's not ready. Forum is flooded with issues because of it. Bonus: Chroma key doesn't work.

Both these posts strike me as childish and ungrateful.
Personally, I really appreciate what OBS can do, for free, so I support it as best as I can in these forums as my way to payback/pay-it-forward. But I'm not patient here, or elsewhere, to those who whine/act entitled, or otherwise ignore obvious requirements, standards of behavior

You do realize this is Free Open Source Software, right? so did you volunteer and help test the release candidates? Did you read the release candidate posts on issues?
and with all s/w, of course one should appropriately backup before an upgrade.. not doing so = PEBKAC (or id10t)

If you want to be on the bleeding edge, good luck but don't cry if you get cut. Otherwise, STFU and be patient
Upgrading so soon after a FOSS release and not checking others experience in advance? You should not expect sympathy when you act carelessly then get 'hurt'

OBS Studio v26 was similar upon initial release, some aspects worked fine, others needed tweaking. Further, plug-ins, etc needed updating, and there are sometimes different defaults/assumptions that may cause an issue for some.... all normal stuff to deal with, and being FOSS, it isn't like there is a large number of paid staff to work through all of it, for lots of device configurations and especially under-powered computers trying to do computationally demanding real-time video encoding, in advance. The Dev team (which I'm in no way associated with other than a happy user) does the best they can

Ouch. I'm hurt. No it didn't help me either. There is some major issue with the thing. Plus turns out as it was downloading that that Audio noise reduction thing is only for people with Nvideo 20 or 30 type GPUs. Which is not me at 1060 or whatever I have. .. so no luck. Also not crazy about the sort of unnecessary popup that tells me that I'm missing several sources from over a year ago that have been gathering dust. Ok, so now I go back.

Wow! You're so right. Thank you Lawrence for opening my eyes. I didn't truly understand that this was open source and free. How foolish of me.

You dork! I know all of that and I actually am super grateful for the software. I love my parents too but will complain about them. Doesn't mean i love them any less. No need for you to come on and fulfill your social justice warrior quota, I came on more to vent and see if possibly i was the only one that had experienced something like this, and if so, how I could have avoided it.

So as for MrGhost and Spyder, sorry to hear things went south for you too. I don't really want to revert back and start over but it's looking like I might have to. I'll tinker over the weekend and hopefully smooth things out.

Good luck all!

Steady folks! Part of the fun with OBS is solving the problems while also enjoying the wonderful things it can do. Take on the issues rather than each other and everyone benefits :)

It's not bleeding edge, it's a full "ready to go" release. You know, after they had 6 different release candidates and still the same bugs they've known about since April. It's been over a week, and not even a hotfix for issues that have been fixed but not pushed.

OBS Studio v26 was similar upon initial release, some aspects worked fine, others needed tweaking.

26 was not nearly as bad on release, and got 2 hotfixes within a week of launch.

OBS wouldn't be what it is now, if it wasn't for people like me back in 2013 using it and telling others to use it. Once Nvidia stepped in and started putting their support behind it, it's stopped being a simple freeware. OBS has become the standard for streaming, there are expectations now.
