Question / Help Did Adobe just fix Flash?

So I saw the Adobe Flash advisory that just came out that there's a new vulnerability, and updated my Flash again:
http://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player/apsb14-13.html

Like I usually do after an update, I tested some things. One of which happened to be, with FRAPS framerate monitoring open, watched some Twitch videos in fullscreen mode. And that's when I noticed that I was actually getting 60fps on 60fps streams. Its not rock solid like YouTube's 30fps, but its actually right around 60fps instead of varying between 35 and 50fps, never reaching 60fps, like Flash has always done before one hour ago, for me.

Granted, this plugs my own video, but here's a copy of a video I uploaded to YouTube, that I simultaneously uploaded to Twitch at 1080p60:

And here's r1ch's VOD analyzer of it: http://r-1.ch/analyze-twitch-vod.php?url=http://www.twitch.tv/boildown/b/502356286

It never played back smooth until after I updated my Flash version, just now. FRAPS framerate monitor seems to verify this, as do other 60fps videos on Twitch.

So my question is, can anyone else verify that 60fps Twitch streams actually look smooth and not shitty all of the sudden (after this update)?

I have noticed similar results. It does appear like this update to Flash is way bigger than just a security update. I've started watching streams in browser again, which is nice and convenient!

1080p60fps still isn't where it should be, but even if Flash is starting to play it more correctly, it's still a waste because of bandwith/decoding requirements imo

I cant watch 60fps streams after the update, they are extremely sluggish in Chrome. However if I watch them in fullscreen, also in Chrome, then I'm getting 60fps no prob. I guess that's where hardware acceleration kicks in. Before the update it was the other way around, super smooth in non fullscreen but not so much in fullscreen. I liked the way it was before.

This is on twitch btw.

^ Disabling hardware acceleration in Chrome does indeed revert the changes, so now twitch streams are super smooth in non fullscreen. Problem is, youtube isn't accelerated anymore. /sigh I think I'm gonna crawl back to Opera or Firefox one of these days.

Chrome does not use the same version of Flash that you get from Adobe, they use their own stupid version.

While that is true Krazy, you still can deactivate Chrome's inbuilt Flash and use the "normal" one. Even though there shouldn't be a version difference. If it's relevant just type "chrome://plugins/" in the address bar (without "") and press the "+ Details" Button on the right side. Then you can choose between the Flash Versions, just deactivate the one located in the Chrome installation folder.
