Development of Home Shopping Overlay

Hello,

I would like to set up a home shopping style overlay for my OBS.

Like QVC or HSN.

There will be some fixed information, but there will also need to be a way to change the text for variable boxes such as description, item number, price , etc.

Im hoping someone here has some experience in this area and could help point me in the right direction with regard to this project.

Sounds like you need a proper CG (Character Generator) and CG operator. You can use the NDI plugin and

and something from there if you want. If you want to buy a hardware-based-CG and have one with hardware outputs to a computer with some type of SDI input, be prepared to speed $20k for a very low-level system ($80k+ for a high-end system).

As an alternative you could write it as a html overlay and update the boxes/trigger animations via a websocket connection.

There is also NodeCG (you'll have to Google about it and how to set it up).

Also there is https://www.easymediasuite.com/products/character-generator (and you'll need to get some beefy hardware to run it). I don't know anything about it, but doing a Google search for "Broadcast Character Generator" this came up and it does look interesting.
