Question / Help Desktop audio visualisation

So I've got a little strange idea. I usually make my videos in 16:9 aspect, but some games only run in 4:3, so I like to fill the borders with something. My idea is to put an audio visualiser in the background.
I have tried using VLC player, but there wasn't a lot of variety in visualisers plus I get a delay between the visualisation and the audio.
Is there any programs that can capture desktop audio and visualise it? Perhaps some OBS plug-ins (that would be preferable)?

No answer for you but just so your are aware, this could possibly decrease the overall image quality of your stream. The encoder will have to allocate bits to to the visualization, which is constantly moving and changing, it will take those bits from the other areas of the scene

Bitrate is not the problem since I'm recording, not streaming and my rig sure is capable. The delay is in VLC itself, not OBS.
