Question / Help Desktop audio seems to be detected, but can't be heard in recording/stream

I'm currently using a Scarlett 2i2 audio interface with an Audio Technica AT2020 condenser mic connected to it. I am monitoring the mic through a direct monitor with the interface which allows me to hear both my microphone and desktop audio through headphones. The headphones are plugged into the audio interface. It seems that desktop audio is being detected by OBS because the bar in mixer is moving, but when I record or stream, no audio is transmitted besides my mic input. Here is a short video detailing the situation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97JXrBF9Xzg&feature=youtu.be

Also here are my audio settings in OBS:

Solved: I went to advanced audio settings and changed some stuff. I think what fixed it was disabling audio monitoring (which I enabled earlier in order to fix the problem). I feel like the problem didn't stem from here though, so this was an odd fix.

Is it still working? I've had this same exact problem for a few weeks and noticed that my auto monitoring turned off by itself when I re plugged all of my cords. Edit: It only worked once for some unexplained reason... ugh.
