Problem: For some reason, when I started up OBS Studio today, the "Desktop Audio" no longer captured all audio. Even when I tried to use good ol' OBS Classic, it had the same issue.
"Desktop Audio" captures some, but not all. This is persistent whether I am streaming, recording, or the program is just idle. The "Mic/Aux" is successfully capturing my mic.
Some of what does get captured by "Desktop Audio"
Notification sounds from Telegram, YouTube through Firefox, Windows alert/notification noises, and the "Test" option on output devices in Windows all get captured. The games Stardew Valley, Elite: Dangerous, and Fractured Space also get captured. Even Windows Media Player 12 gets captured.
Some of what doesn't get captured by "Desktop Audio"
The games Company of Heroes 2 and Crimsonland (New and 2003 versions), as well as Winamp, and even precious VLC.
What I have tried:
Everything is updated, include Drivers, OBS Studio, Windows, etc
Tried installing OBS classic and using that (same results)
Tried uninstalling OBS (classic and studio) and reinstalling OBS Studio
Tried rebooting. Plenty of times.
I have tried various audio settings (using defaults for devices, specifying devices, changing output audio from lowest bitrate all the way up to 160 bitrate, etc)
I have tried enabling and disabling sound devices in Windows
I have tried unplugging my mic
I have streamed successfully before with OBS (using Company of Heroes 2, which no longer is being captured), as recent as a few days ago. Attached are the logs after the recent reinstall, and an attempt at streaming with one of the programs that doesn't get captured. Let me know if there's anything more I can do to help you help me. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
