Question / Help desktop audio coming through mic

ive tried everything, but whenever i play anything on my pc it comes through my mic, even when my mic is disabled, on obs it comes through

try this if you haven't already...
Set it up so that the problem is occurring.
Now, while it is occurring, turn down the volume on your speakers, preferably using the knob on the speakers themselves.
If you don't have external speakers, use the volume buttons.

even with my mic off sound still comes through
turning down volume on my headset fixes the issue but then i cant hear anything

In Settings, Audio section, what is set as your monitoring device?

Check your Advanced Audio Properties.
Monitor Off = Complete Silent of that audio source
Monitor Only = Can hear it on speaker / in headset, but no output to streaming (program)
Monitor and Output = can hear and output to streaming (program)
