Question / Help Delay in streaming to Facebook?

I've noticed a varying delay in video streaming to Facebook - the first time I tested, the stream was delayed about 20 seconds from live, but tonight it was a delay of 2 to 3 minutes or so... Is this just something on FB's end, traffic maybe?

Thanks.

I'm having the same problem; getting a delay of 20seconds+ when streaming desktop to Facebook Live. Tried altering all of the settings for Video/Audio in OBS but nothing seems to make a difference. I ave tried this at different times and going live on Facebook from my mobile is fine. Not sure if there is anything else to check?

Its not Skype. All video streaming services do this unless they're RTMP all the way down. And I don't think anyone does that any more.

We currently have a Global Interactive Broadcasting Platform (iOS and Android) with source to destination delay of between 50ms to 1 seconds based on the geographic location and network quality (wifi - 4g 3g). This is Interactive Broadcasting meaning you can select anyone from anywhere and pull them onto your broadcast while everyone can watch .. (stop the Interviewee from Paris, select one from Rio then one from Delhi ....) while 10's of 1000's of viewers watch and interact.....

We have seen "traditional" streaming services like Ustream, Take It Live, facebook, YouTube etc with btween 10 sec to 60 seconds delay (sometime as much as 2 minutes). This is possibly OK for streaming but not for INTERACTIVE....

Hey All, totally BRAND NEW to OBS and this forum. I wanted to check it out but heard some people talking about the lengthy broadcast delay. I'm hoping to provide a product to my audience through Facebook and Periscope (hopefully), that doesn't have this lengthy delay. Is this possible with OBS? Or are these delays I've read about it strictly FB and Periscopes fault? Thanks for addressing my Noobie McNubster'ness. =)

OBS doesn't add more than a second or two of delay, unless you tell it to. All the rest of the delay is the fault of who you're using to distribute the video, and the amount of buffer set up in the player.
