Default Audio Device doesn't automatically switch

Hi. I have desktop audio set to default device but whenever OBS is running and I switch device from my DAC to headset, OBS doesn't recognize it (meter doesn't move). I have to restart OBS for the change to be effective. What gives?

OBS does not actively track the Default device. It picks it up when OBS is initialized.
You might be better-served selecting both your headset and DAC devices as separate audio input captures, and capture both.
