Question / Help Dedicated stream PC + Capture Card - Stutter?

Hello!

I recently got a new capture card as I wanted to start streaming @ 1920 x 1080 however would anyone know why when I record at 1920 x (to test it out) why it would stutter every few seconds? Assuming it would do the same when I stream?

Stream PC
Ryzen 2700x
16GBAvermedia Live Game 4k GC573 Capture Card
Slow preset - CPU never goes over 50%
Bit Rate - 5500

I did a bit of reading and from what I could tell if I am using the H.264/CPU to encode then the video card really isn't a big deal? Have I got it wrong, do i infact need a better GPU in my stream PC to be able to process 1920 x 1080.

I thought my problem might have been that I was previously using a Avermedia Live Gamer HD C985 and that it just couldn't handle it, (i know it doesn't do 60FPS @ 1920 x 1080 but apprantly it does it @ 30FPS however i never tested that out)

I cannot work it out otherwise, would appreciate any advice/tips anyone may be able to throw my way.

Are you observing the stutter in the preview window, or when playing back recordings?

Can you provide a log of a recent recording attempt?

As far as your question about the GPU, it is used for scene rendering (all scaling, most filters, and compositing). It's normally not that big of a hit on the GPU, especially if this is a dedicated streaming rig where you're not using it for any other rendering tasks.

What graphics card are you using?.

As far as I know, OBS Studio still needs some graphics power to render all the image toghether (sources in the scene) before sending it to the encoder (CPU in your case).

A log from OBS Studio after a streaming session would really help to understand what's going on.

Using an Nvidia GTX1050

If I am only using OBS in full screen preview mode being pushed across to my capture card and added as an input into stream labs, will OBS still be able to produce a log file if it isn't recording/streaming? I use stream labs for the visuals, OBS doesn't have the capacity to do this does it?

Also how does this log capture? Is it only when record/stream is used? Does the log output to the install directory of OBS automatically or does it need to be enabled somewhere?

I just read the sticky post, perhaps some if might have to do with my web cam, come to think of it I think it is actually running at 1920 x 1080 but shrunk down. Don't know why I have it set like that, kinda pointless when it isn't full screen >.< I will whack it down to something like 480p?

Would still like to know if this log captures when it in full screen preview mode only? Will give it all a whirl this afternoon when I get home.
