Dedicated person or team that could create common installers for everything installed to OBS in all or as many formats as possible.

Hi,
I have been using OBS for many years now. I love and appreciate all that the programmers do. However, I am not a programmer myself and sometimes the installations are beyond my understanding to figure out. Even though I get really exhilarated when I do figure them out there are some that I just give up on. I watch youtube tutorials, but one isn't always there for what I might be trying to install.

I would like to suggest if it is doable to have a person or a team that just creates common installers like .exe or .dmg so that it is easier to get started using them. I would think that if a programmer takes the time to create such wonderful software they would want it to be used by as many people as possible.

Or, if it's an individual thing, I would suggest teaming up with someone, a person if you will, who has the knowledge and time to do it.

Thanks for all that you do!

The OBS project intends in the future to have an integrated plugin manager to simplify the discovery, installation, management of plugins although it is a large undertaking from what I understand. I don't believe there is a target release date or timeframe, but it will come in the future and ideally replace the need for any standalone installers or downloads. It's one of the most voted upon feature requests on the ideas website, so fingers crossed... maybe 2023 will be the year of plugin manager bliss... :)

SkeletonBow, Thanks so much for answering my question. I remember a few years back you had answered my suggestions on the other forum. I have been with the OBS software for many years. Although I haven't used it yet for any kind of productions I plan to. It is getting scary good and I truly appreciate what ALL of you are doing to make this happen. I look forward to the installers of the future.

Thanks for this interesting and so useful information!
hannamiles, You seem like you're new to OBS. I have been with it for a few years and love it, but am not a programmer. I just watch youtube tutorials and ask questions on this board. Lots of times people have had the same issues that you or I would have and someone will typically answer your question. More so there are more and more tutorials on most things you would want to install and learn about on youtube, but sometimes you need to do some digging to find answers. If I figure something out I will post the steps that I used to get there. I'm sure you will in time also. Best of luck to you!
