Jim,

I have a decklink 4k extreme and the screen keeps keeps flickering only in OBS I have xsplit and rec central installed on the same streaming pc and the flickering doesn't not occur in either one of those only in OBS.

I captured a video for ytou sdo you can view it, please watch the whole thing its not that long. After capturing the video I looked over and it looks like OBS crashed after I stopped the recording that I was making for you :_) go figure I have attached that log file and a snap of the crash message. The flickering happens on the stable and beta tests.

Raw mp4 video https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/208 ... xtreme.zip

in the .zip are the logs, .png and mp, I also included all my logs from April so you can look through those, the flickering has been persistent and also I notice my 1080p @ 60 fps lagging from time to time when streaming.

Thanks,

Justin

I took a look at a log from one of your earlier posts, are you still using the GeForce 610 from that log?
The GeForce 610 is a very low end card, and because OBS uses the GPU to render the scene, it's entirely possible that it simply can't handle the operations needed on the video card at 1920x1080 and sixty frames per second.

That doesn't explain the flickering, though. Could you please post a log from when you tried to stream and it crashed?

Decklink devices don't seem to like sharing, make sure you aren't running reccentral or xsplit at the same time as OBS - your screenshot shows them both running at once?

The crash appears to be because your video card crashed - the error code DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED means your video card froze and was reset by the drivers.

Thanks for the detailed post!

paibox I am using a capture card the video card should not make a difference? r1ch the problem happens when they are running individually I just had rec central up at that time for other testing however, rec central uses the aver media live gamer hd as in input and not the 4k extreme.

Well, like I mentioned, OBS does a lot of work using the video card. The memory bus on the GT 610 is very narrow, only 64-bit, if you continue having lag issues when trying to use the card at 1920x1080 and sixty frames per second, you would most likely have to get a slightly better video card, if it clears up, great.

Just wanted to come back and update I waited a week before doing so I went out the same night I posted and bought a gtx 660 and my issues are mostly gone. The flickering is gone and the fps still seem to go out of sync when streaming. For example I can tell when my stream drops below 60 fps. It seems as though OBS has issues maintaining a consistent 60 fps at all times. Is this due to frame lag or drops?

Thanks,

Justin

Ah, I'm glad the flickering stopped! I'm not quite sure why it would drop below 60 FPS, I've personally never had any issues maintaining 60 frames per second myself, but the maximum resolution supported by my capture cards is 1280x720 (unless you count 1080i).

The Decklink 4k is a PCI-express 4x card, so the bus definitely shouldn't be getting saturated by the data from the card. If you can upload a log of a streaming attempt, that might help shed some light on what might be going on.

I will do some recordings and provide the raw output so you can see what I am talking about. I will provide the log with the recording in case there is lagged frames.
