Dealing with mixed 4x3 and 16x9 media

It seems like when I switch from a 16x9 to a 4x3 game the default action of the capture window from the capture card is to stretch.

I don't like stretching distorts the picture.

There are two other possible choices on ways to deal with this. Either zoom in and fill screen or zoom out and crop.

Could you please tell tell us how to do both those so that it's easy peasy not have to go into the settings and change it every time you switch ratio?

By the way my preferred method of dealing with 4x3 and a 16x9 is to zoom out with black bars on the side AKA crop.

Just to confirm: you're saying your capture card is stretching the image, not obs? If it's OBS doing it, right click on the source and play around with the stretch and centring options under Transform.

As for how to switch if the above isn't the solution you need, just have either two scenes or two inputs set up, one in 16x9 and the other in 4x3, and alternate between them as required. You can set up a keyboard shortcut to do this without leaving the game.
