There was an awesome guide from someone here on this forum with custom settings preset A, B, C, E ... called "Open Broadcaster Software • View topic - choose good custom x264 settings for improve stream quality" but it seems to be gone, why, was it moved somewhere?

Anyone played with "open-gop" before? That's a new one to me, either that or I was too unfamiliar with x264 until recently to mess with it. Its off by default in every preset. I will have to test to see if its compatible with Twitch, Sony Vegas, and WMP/MPC/VLC/PS3. If yes to all of those, it sounds like it might be a cool addition.

But yeah, that thread promoted stupid settings far inferior to what's built in with the presets. Lol for example, RC-Lookahead=30 in every custom, that's just stupid and its not the only stupid thing there either.

Open-gop does weird things with the flash player, I don't recommend it. It works, but it screws up things like seeking

That guy was the same guy who posted the 5 custom settings in the Questions and Help thread no?

None the less, I wouldn't mess with the custom parameters until you know what specific parameter does what exactly. And unless you've got a strong CPU, those specific custom settings you're looking for will not benefit you in anyway.

It was not an awesome thread. It was mostly default settings, while recommending some completely insane settings for live streaming. It was spreading bad info, so it was removed.

You should never just copy/paste someone else's settings anyway. If you properly want to tweak your stream, you should do your own research. Here are some good places to start:

http://mewiki.project357.com/wiki/X264_Settings
http://dev.beandog.org/x264_preset_reference.html
http://forum.doom9.org/

Thank you very much for removing it. Because for my computer/line, it worked perfectly and improved things immense, from unusable to working, how do you explain this if they were all insane or default settings?? So maybe some settings were "stupid", but there had to be some in there which arent default, and helped my stream. If I use your default settings, it's not working, if I use his, it is, strange, huh? If I use your default settings, the picture is totally fragmented if things change fast, if I use his preset, it's not.
