Question / Help curious question about CPU usage preset

i have a core I7 8700k how low can i set the CPU usage preset and it still functions as normal can i place it on the lowest setting?
 
It all depends on the game you are playing and the resolution you are streaming, probably Medium for 720p60, not enough cores for Medium 1080p60.

Anything beyond Medium like Slow and Slower requires 8 or more cores for any game with a decent amount of motion. My 2700x can do 720p60 Slow or 1080p60 Medium without issue while gaming on the same PC.
 
To add to DEDRICK's comment, slower presets have diminishing returns in perceivable quality improvement.

In my own tests, for the sort of games I stream and record (high motion, lots of particles), "very fast" to "fast" is the sweetspot range, depending on the title.

Your mileage may vary though.

tested and placebo is a no go causes in game lag so i think slower is my best option for very good quality just need faster data speeds now
