Question / Help CS:GO FPS Drops while OBS is opened/Streaming

At first i want to say hi to everybody and thanks already, for helping me to find a solution for my problem :) i appreciate it.

My problem is very simple.

I'm trying to stream CS:GO on Twitch.TV. Everything is working great. Good quality, 0 Frameloss in OBS. everything is good. The only problem i have is that i'm getting FPS Drops INGAME, while streaming with OBS, or even opening OBS...

If i'm playing CS:GO without open OBS i have about 250-350 FPS, everything is working good.
But until i'm opening OBS, my FPS are dropping to 60-100 FPS. I can't play with this.. :/

Processor : Intel Core i7-2600k 4x 3,40 Ghz
Graphiccard : Nvidia GeForce 660 GTX Ti
CS:GO Specs : 1024x768 and Everything on low!

the bitrate is too low anyway for actual streaming

according to that log you havent

all you do is using game capture right now


if you have changed things then go ahead an post a new log after you changed settings

log looks mostly fine

a bit slow connection to the ingest server

but this shouldnt be the case of your problem


i would suggest disabling the preview window in obs, this might help


another thing would be setting launch properties csgo

-high -threads 4 +fps_max 150

I had the same problem and it looks like we have the same video card.
I'm on a MSI 660TI PE.
I have noticed framedrops in CSGO when my video card underclocks itself.
IDK why it does this, heat is not an issue.

I have GPU-z running on one screen and CSGO on the other.
I notice my FPS drop in CSGO and then look over at my GPU-z and see my graphics card is running below advertised clock speeds.

No idea why it does this.
I ended up saying F it and putting together a dedicated streaming pc.
No more FPS drop.
