Hi guys! New member here. I have tried implementing the suggested fixes for my issue but I'm still having trouble. Could very well be my ignorance as I'm new to this so forgive me.
My screen resolution is 1366x768. I have an older computer. I've entered this in the Base and Output settings. I want to record my screen and webpage but I don't want the item bars in view so I cropped the view (Note: I do not see the green crop bar shown in tutorials but the screen still crops so I I'm not sure what that's about).
However, now what's happened is there are black bars where I've cropped and I cannot figure how to fit the whole area to screen where the black cropped area isn't visible?
Can I get some pointers on what I'm doing wrong please?

You have an aspect ratio problem.

When you crop off one side of a source, you change the aspect ratio of that source.
You can right-click the source in the Sources list, go to Transforms, Edit Transform and find the resolution of the cropped source there. Then enter that resolution into your Canvas and Output settings.

Do be aware that if you then send that recording to YouTube, it will be letterboxed/columnboxed back to a 16:9 aspect ratio in the player, so the black bars will be back.

Think of it like a picture in a frame. If you cut off (crop) the top inch of the picture, the frame doesn't get smaller... it just has an empty gap. You can move the picture around, but if you move it to the top, now you have a gap at the bottom. If you enlarge the picture so it fills to the top and bottom, you'll have to cut off one of the sides to make it fit.
For your own purposes you can get a frame just the right size to fit the picture with the top inch cut off. But YouTube only has frames in one size, and nothing you can do will change that.

I see. Thank you so much for your reply. That's eased my mind a lot. Much appreciated.
