CRF mode NOT WORKING????

I'm playing with the thing... using the last version ( and the little outdated one was doing the same thing) but no matter what value i put in the crf, it sticks to the cbr value entered under this mode. No matter if i hit start streaming or record first... rate control modes don't seem to be registered anymore. Same occurs with x264 or nvenc in my case.

I wonder if that's something that has been dropped somewhere and nobody noticed it??

You should not be using CRF for streaming settings.
If you want to be recording in CRF rate control, don't use the "same as stream" encoder

Why is the option there if it's disabled... at all times? I don't want to be told i should not use CRF. :-) Even if i use a seperate encoder for recording, the fact that the option is there for the streaming encoder.. and doesn't work... it's not normal??? i'll put buttons on the dash on your car, label them and never hook them up and put no warning that they aren't :-)

The reason that CRF is being ignored when you use it for your stream encoder is because streaming services expect CBR when streaming, and OBS enforces that.
