Question / Help Create Record Button Overlay?

So I was thinking of using OBS full screen for an application. I know I can make shortcut keys to start / stop w timers. However, I want to possibly use this on a touch screen. Instead of using on screen keyboard (which defeats the purpose of screen real estate) or leaving in non-full screen mode, does anyone know if I can create a 'record' button that would simply start the recording? I know OBS is quite powerful with overlays. At the very least it would be helpful to have a notification of 'Recording Started' on fullscreen (I believe there is only an option for streaming currently).
