create a video from multiple scenes

Hi

i am new to OBS and have a basic question. When i have let say a scene with a start video, a scene with a monitor i want to have a video created from the monitor and a scene with an end picture. I found a way to create a video : i select the first scene then klick the button start recording, than i manually select the second sceen and do the things on the monitor i want to record, then i select manually the third scene and then klick stop recording. Is this the way we have to do it to get an video which includes all i want, or is there an automatic way to get an video from all my scenes one after another. And is this also the way to do a live streaming from mutiple scenes ?

Yes, this is the way you're supposed to create videos with OBS. OBS' primary use is live streaming with interactively create and composite a stream or recording from live sources like cameras or (game) capture and interactive scene changes during the stream. If you want to automate all this and just concatenate a bunch of prerecorded videos or use some fixed modification on these, use a video editor. OBS isn't the right tool for that.

A common workflow for creating videos is first recording the live parts with OBS in several video snippets, then use a video editor to cut and paste these snippets to a final video that also includes starting and ending pictures from static content created elsewhere.
