Bug Report Crashing When Changing scenes multiple CAMS

Hello,

I am coming over from xsplit I have found that OBS does not produce FPS stream lag like xsplit does, in other words when I use xsplit the stream look like I'm really broadcasting 20 fps when I should be doing 30 or 60 fps. As soon as I came to OBS I noticed that issue is completely gone. The problem I am having with OBS is it seems to crash and stop responding far to frequently.

I am noticing some strange things.
I have 3 web cams 1 Logitech FV TouchCam N1
And two Logitech HD PRO C920's
I am trying to do two scenes one labeled Game where I have my Deck-link 4k extreme and one Logitech c920 as input devices.
The second Scene is labeled cams where I have the deck-link 4k extreme and 3 web cams in the scene.

Few issues first If I am on the Game scene and try to click on the cam scene OBS stops responding and I have to control alt delete to shut it down. This happens in the other direction as well if I am on the cam scenes and go back to the game scene same effect. I keep seeing this in the log

Using directshow input
------------------------------------------
device: Decklink Video Capture,
device id (null),
chosen type: HDYC, usingFourCC: true, res: 1920x1080 - 1920x1080, fps: 60.0002-60.0002, fourCC: 'HDYC'

Warning -- DShowPlugin: Failed to connect the video device pin to the video capture pin, result = 80040217
Using directshow input

Also I I start OBS fresh and select the cam scene and click preview stream OBS in the top window says stopped responding and if I wait it will take about 3-5 minutes to bring up the scene at which time I run into the above when trying to go between the scenes.

Id like to add that I am a fan of your work and software and would welcome a premium fee for the services. Like x split has.

This PC is dedicated only for streaming and receives its video via my gamin machine via HDMI 1920x1080 @ 60fps I have also noticed that when in the came scene the decklink input flickers and each time it does OBS freezes during the flickering.

Here is a video of the problem http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLu8XOBtPqk&hd=1

see attached for full logs

Thanks,

cisco

You should probably add all your devices as global sources, otherwise OBS shuts them down and re-initializes every scene change, which some devices are not happy with.

You can delete the scenes.xconfig from your %APPDATA%\OBS folder to start fresh.

ok so I added them as global sources the delay when clicking on the cam scene and then start preview is still there, it takes like 3 minutes before the cams load, once they do in the cams scene the decklink input flashes and when it flashes the mouse cursor freezes and so does obs then it unfreezes when the flash stops. I tested this if I start out in the Game scene and sit there no flashing or mouse cursor freezing happens, as soon as I move scenes to the cam scene flashing occurs in the cam scene and also when I go back to the Game scene until I restart OBS and do not switch scenes.

I can switch back and fourth between scenes now without it freezing, adding them as global sources fixed that. So 2 issues remain, the slow loading of the cam scene when clicking on preview and the decklink input flashing and causing obs to freeze while the flash occurs.

It gets even better if I am live streaming and i try to go from the game scene to the cam stream OBS freezes and droops the stream :-(

It's loading multiple devices so it'll probably take a while for a scene to initiate, a little irritating but maybe in the future I might be able to make it multithreaded or something to prevent it from affecting the app directly.

Hey Jim I can understand but if it is not quick multi scene with cams in not possible, I hate to compare but other apps do not have a problem doing it. Right now I cant use multiple cams in a scene because if I try to switch to that scene the application freezes and the stream crashes. Also the flickering of the video input is still present as described above.

The reason I came to OBS is because of this problem with xsplit, but I cannot use OBS to do what I want currently.
