Bug Report Crashing after adding second version of same source.

Hi all!

I'm trying to make a scene for each of my retro consoles which are ran through a splitter, then into my Dazzle. Each console needs different visual settings to look good. After I try to add the dazzle as a "different" source on different scenes, OBS crashes giving me the following log. All crashes list lvcod64.dll.

Any ideas on how to fix this issue? Thanks!

lvcod64.dll is a logitech video device driver. Since the crash is occurring in your capture device drivers, there is not much we can do.

However, if you need multiple devices added, you should use add existing for each scene. If Add Existing isn't an option, use multiple scene collections where you can have the unique configuration settings.

Ok, so am I following correctly here: If I want multiple versions of the same scene available (one version with brightness X and contrast X, and one with brightness Y and contrast Y, etc. I can do that within one scene, but not across multiple scenes? So far I haven't been able to figure out how to change one without affecting all of the copies of that source within the scene.

Thanks for the input!

If you're using different filters on the same device, you need to use Scene Collections (menu at the top of OBS, not the same thing as a normal scene).

Adding a video capture device multiple times to multiple scenes will only cause issues. We're aware of this limitation, and there are plans to allow scene-specific filters for shared devices, but it is not currently possible.

Thanks for the info. I found out that because my webcam was plugged into a USB 2.0 port instead of the 3.0 port, that was causing the crashes. I've figured out the Scene Collections and Profiles, and now OBS is working great for me! Thanks Fenrir for your assistance!
