Crashes since the update in December 2024, no chance in opening OBS.

Hello dear community,
maybe someone can help me out.
Since the last update in December 2024 I wasnt able to open my obs anymore.
What happened was, that it told me it was already open, evenso it was closed.
Ever since I got the same issue.
I tried launching it, it tried to open, showed me there is a source problem, and then it "crashed".
Sometimes with the warning, sometimes it just closed without even that.
Since the obs was moulded into my needs for many years now, I would struggle to start from zero again.

It could be some old plug-ins. Sadly I cant identify them by name in the plug-in folder.
Also, I am not so sure if this is important. For some reason I have an obs-studio-node-server folder at %appdata%.

Since I cant enter OBS, I had to get the report straight from the %appdata%-folder.

Log cut out 2 seconds after OBS was opened & before start up completed.

Try updating your Nvidia Audio FX & see if things improve, it's way stale.

Thanks so much.
I updated it immediately, and I could run it one time.
When I closed it, it crashed.
And isn't going to open again.

I wonder, if something new happened now?

Try uninstalling the NVIDIA Audio Effects SDK

Yeah, it could be the AR. I don't have it installed on my rig. Some more info from your logs. Maybe try disabling it on Mic 3, see what happens next.

This error is in both logs on Mic 3 & then the logs ends shortly after.
18:06:42.564: WASAPI: Device 'Eingang (Realtek(R) Audio)' [48000 Hz] initialized (source: Eingang/Input (Mic/Aux 3))
18:06:42.613: [NVIDIA Audio Effects: 'Noise Suppression_ported'] NvAFX_Load() failed with error 1
18:06:42.613: [NVIDIA Audio Effects: 'Noise Suppression_ported'] NvAFX_Release() failed

From the first log, there's 2 of them. Wonder if OBS cut out above just before
13:00:54.019: WASAPI: Device 'Eingang (Realtek(R) Audio)' [48000 Hz] initialized (source: Eingang/Input (Mic/Aux 3))
13:00:54.023: [NVIDIA Audio Effects: 'Noise Suppression_ported'] NvAFX_Load() failed with error 1
13:00:54.024: [NVIDIA Audio Effects: 'Noise Suppression_ported'] NvAFX_Release() failed
13:00:54.271: [NVIDIA Audio Effects: 'Noise Suppression 2_ported'] NvAFX_Load() failed with error 1
13:00:54.271: [NVIDIA Audio Effects: 'Noise Suppression 2_ported'] NvAFX_Release() failed

Un-resolved

Have you tried starting in Safe Mode?

If it loads, create a new Scene Collection with just 1 Scene/Source. Close/re-open OBS. What happened?

I took a closer look at the second log. I assumed the AFX had been updated but in fact only the Nvidia driver was updated from 572.83 to 576.52. Anyway, probably a good move, been reading good things about the newest drivers. I'm not updating from 566.36 anytime soon but back to the AFX. The update was missed, still running that stale old version.

Here's the link for the AR download, get the correct version for the 20 Series
