Crashes are unavoidable, but please...

Hey there, first post.

OBS is awesome, and i'm using to record everything with it, i play on window mode and when OBS crashes it keeps your icon and i believe it's still recording when not, (and when pop ups came in, i close them immediately because reasons) and that's not nice.

maybe the crashes can't be fixed, but please remove all your assets when it's not working at all so you can warn the users and don't send those pretty moments into oblivion. I hope this can be adressed.

The problem with a crash is... well that the software has crashed. And therefore is unable to do any cleanup tasks.

True, but crashes can be handled, making appear the error window and closing the program after pressing 'OK'. I believe this can be done.

I don't really understand what you're asking. When OBS crashes it keeps...what icon? OBS's icon? Where does the icon get kept? If OBS crashed, then it's not still recording...and what pop-ups are you talking about?

You might need to explain your issue in more detail.

That is actually more a Windows problem I think. And as mentioned, its hard to catch every possible crash scenario. But as far as my experience goes, most programs that have a tray icon, if they crash or you kill them, will show the icon in the tray until you hover over it with your mouse and windows recognizes that the program is closed.
Maybe you could ask Microsoft to fix that for Windows 10!
