I've fired up a trusty old version of OBS which always worked on this windows 10 laptop. It wasnt streaming or recording just left it for a long time then, crash.

Hey does anyone know what caused the crash?

I can't tell you exactly what caused the crash, but it could probably be a memory leak. Primarily since you state you "left it for a long time".
