Hejsan guys, loaded the v0.552b today and tried to stream for a while.

this is the crash report i got after ~5 minutes of streaming, and i lost like 90% frames in those 5 minutes, welp^^

i was streaming some 1.6 CounterStrike // i´m from germany with 50 Down and 10 mpbs Up.

i used the settings the Estimator said would be the best for my system / i got no laggs or something else -> i never felt something was off in-game too, i don´t know why i got so much frame drops :(

yup same issue here. looks like Im not the only one with a kernal.dll error. Finally. see Im not crazy and its not "the computer". I'm afraid Krazy was wrong. Not user error here. It's software error on this one. This is my same issue that I posted.

I've seen exceptions in kernelbase.dll a striking number of times these past few days and not even with the same exception.

Random question -- Which anti-virus are the 2 of you using?

no antivirus was operating in the foreground, background, or on startup at all when I have been having these problems. I was a first time user on Wednesday with setting it up and using it per instructions between both twitch and obs site recommendations and nothing had been changed when the updates came in. updates came and instantly had problems and now it doesnt matter what version is used, crashes and dropped frames on 64 bit is to be expected now. pretty useless to keep messing with it unless a fix is found I have tried to roll back to 551 and prior. The only version now that seems to have even seconds of stability is V0542b but still lags way too much. Tell me why the 542b version doesnt crash (although frames still drop and major lag and fuzziness) and the new version does crash. The problem was instant when the 552b version auto updated to my system. If anyone wants to see what i am talking about feel free to pm me and will link you to videos as proof to see the difference with no change in settings.

Have tried total clean installs by removing anything associated with OBS in between testing versions, not to exclude removing the OBS registry keys under Software in Regedit and C: Folder AppData associated with the program. Have experience in doing this so it's not a "user" issue. Seems to have an issue when opening 522b that confuses 32 bit with 64 bit. My system is a 64BIT operating system but this error shows 32Bit errors in Windows and then crashes OBS.

90%+ DROPPED Frames here

So, you have no AV installed on your system then?

And, I personally can understand your frustration but it would help if you didn't express it quite so... frustrated. ;) You see, the thing here is -- even though it may indeed be this specific update/version of OBS, there are other considerations to account for. For example, have a look at the changelog. It will list an entry for a false positive of Norton. Now, that example is irrelevant to this problem but it does illustrate what I mean to say -- this particular version of OBS could be triggering an issue on your system that pre-existed or a pre-existing condition on your system could be triggering something in this version of OBS.

Fact of the matter is, numerous people are using this new version of OBS without a single problem. The point of which is this -- it can and will run. Personally, I have been using OBS for quite some time now and do all kinds of nasty things to it and to my Windows and I have yet to see OBS crash this hard or cause this kind of an exception. On a system running a hyper-paranoid AV, Beta GPU drivers, highly distorted Windows configuration (I did so much stuff to tweak it to my liking).

Oh... and for the record... OBS doesn't actively use the registry for any configuration or anything of the sort.

TL;DR -- Something about your PC, about your installation, about your combination of hardware is preventing OBS from working properly. We just need to find out what that variable is.

This is actually intentional - previous versions of OBS would terminate non-responding threads, which is extremely dangerous and causes the internal state of the program to potentially become corrupted. Since 0.55, non-responding threads now create a crash report so we can track down and fix whatever is making them freeze rather than letting potential corruption exist (and make for much harder to debug errors in the future).

This particular crash only occurs when your network is congested (so OBS has to drop frames). OBS is waiting for your network to respond so it can continue finishing the stream, but something is very wrong with your connection and it is not responding within the 60 second timeout for finishing a stream.

Checked with ips and am at a consistent 108 mbps and in obs have tried different "servers" an still no luck. No firewall interference. Any ideas as to this solution or do i wait for a new version in hopes it fixes this problem?

Wuh85, you have a different crash. Generally when it's crashing in the x264 dll, it means your system is unstable. If you are running any overclocks, disable them and try again to see if it crashes.

Though I suggest you open your own thread for additional support.
