crash on *Start Recording*

I've been using OBS with V4L2 as my video source for zoomed lectures. I also have been recording directly with OBS as the quality seems better than the zoom cloud recordings. This worked without any issues all through the fall semester, but when I started it up for the first class of the semester this morning, OBS crashes immediately upon pushing the *Start Recording* button. No error messages are displayed, it just crashes.

System info:
Ubuntu 20.10
Intel Core I7-10700
Sapphire Radeon RX 580
OBS 26.1.0

No hardware changes have been made between the time when this functioned and now with the error. Any advice would be appreciated.

Update: I upgraded to 26.1.1 and the problem seems to be resolved. Posting the update with simple solution in case anyone else comes searching here with a similar problem.

Dear bcanfiel,
I have the same issue but unfortunately 26.1.1 did not solve the problem (Linux Mint). It also crashes after I deleted the config files and reinstalled obs during startup-wizard.
