Hey!
So I'm in the process of trying to configure the optimal settings for my OBS advanced recording.
My PC specs are:
- i5 3570k at 4.5ghz
- AMD Radeon HD 7950 (Gigabyte)
- Gigabyte Z77-UD5H
- Corsair cmz8gx3m2a1600c9b (2x4gb 1600mhz) RAM
- Samsung 840 256gb (boot drive)
- Seagate ST4000DM000 4TB
I've been testing with Rocket League. What generally happens is that the game will freeze right in the middle of a match, then once the match is finished, I will tab out and OBS studio will be a white screen. I have to close it through ctrl+alt+delete. When this happens, I press the "stop recording" button and it says "stopping recording" forever, which is the reason why I force close it.
It should be noted that I was able to play a match to completion by setting the I-frame QP to 16 and the P-frame QP to 21. I wanted to lower it to get better video quality.
The following Imgur album contains pictures of the settings I am currently using (at the time of crashing): http://imgur.com/a/xmQGT
One other thing, my HDD is split up into two partitions. One that contains all of my steam games, and the other where my VODs are being saved. Is this a bottleneck in my system? If it's severely bottlenecking my performance and if the solution is to save my VODs to a separate physical drive, I will go and buy another one. :)
Thanks OBS forumers! :)
