Question / Help Crackling sound

Hello, been trying to start streaming but running into an issue. Anytime I hit preview stream or start streaming, I hear a crackling sound in my audio. Originally thought it was my headset because it was old, so just spent $80 on a new one yesterday and found out that wasn't it. If I turn the game sound off I don't hear the crackling anymore, but it still transfers to the stream (tested by streaming a few seconds, shutting down obs, and watching the few seconds of stream). Streamed a youtube video for a few seconds and it doesn't seem to bother it, there was no crackling in my ears or the stream. It's a USB headset and I've plugged it into the front USB ports and the back. I have no webcam which is what is causing all the other people's crackling noises that I have seen posts about. Been trying out several things this afternoon to give a little more info, turns out it's not OBS but maybe someone can help anyways. Done some recording with fraps and OBS, and even with my headset unplugged my sound through my speakers gets fuzzy and has the crackling sound when recording, streaming, and even previewing stream.

Someone told me to try shadowplay, and my recording/streaming works in shadowplay. Would still much rather use OBS if I could, does this shine some light on what the problem might be?
