Question / Help Crackling audio with 160 bitrate encoding

So I guess we all know how Twitch is forcing you to switch to 160 bitrate encoding. I did just that and now my stream is suffering from this loud annoying crackling. I can't seem to figure out what is causing this? Please note I am using the AAC encoding option.

No, you're not forced into 160 Kbps AAC. The MAXIMUM is 160 Kbps AAC soon. But you can still stream at lower bitrates.

Ah, my bad. I used to stream at 256 kbps AAC which was working out just fine for me. Lowering it is what caused this problem. Any ideas?

Honestly, I am not 100% sure but you may want to ensure your audio's sample rate is set no higher than 48Khz and not enabled to be used exclusively.

Audio Devices -> Select whichever device -> Properties -> Advanced

Ye, 44.1Khz should be fine. Otherwise you can try to disable the S/PDIF output. If the problem is not only on twitch and you're using USB 3.0, please try to use USB 2.0
