The aim of this post is to minimize CPU usage when OBS is minimized in the task bar.
Here are some CPU usage numbers that I just recorded:
When OBS is active:
OBS : 47%
Task Manager: 88-90%
When minimized (not showing any cameras):
OBS: 1.6 %
Task Manager 5-6%
So one thing I'd like to understand is why OBS and Task Manager are showing such different numbers
for CPU usage?
My main scene has three cameras in use.
I have each camera set to "Deactivate when not showing".
Despite this, if I minimize OBS to the task bar, the CPU usage stays basically the same.
Is there a way to minimize OBS and not have it gobble up CPU usage?
My workaround has been to create a scene with no cameras and switch to it just before minimizing OBS
to the task bar.
