Hello. I'm pretty much brand new to streaming and looking for some help. Curently my rig has core i5 3330, evga gtx 660, 8gig corsair vengance. when I play some games I get the taking to long to encode warning. Am I right that that is cause by cpu not keeping up? It's not very bad, but would like to improve upon it. I stream downscale to 720p, 2300bit rate. I see alot of streamers using the i7 3770k. Was wondering if that would be the cpu to go for. It seems to have the same socket my current MB has. I'm not all that knowledgeable with the ins and outs of cpu's, but I assume that the hyper-threading is what really helps? My 3330 does not have that. Thanks if you can help. I can provide any other info about settings/rig if you need it.

The i7-3770k should fit your current socket, and it will definitely help with encoding speed. Hyperthreading does help a lot. But let's take a look at your log and see if there's something else that needs to be fixed, because that CPU should be able to stream at 720p just fine. What games are you streaming?

Games that I've seen the encoding warning are skyrim, farcry 3. I've only streamed a few other games that are much lower graphic quality.
Not sure how many times it happened in that log, but I believe it did it a few times. I get alittle bit of choppyness in game aswell when stream, which I expected. Its not unbearable.
Forgot I dropped bit rate down to 2200 aswell

I believe that your GPU supports NVENC which basically lets your gpu cuda cores handle the encoding instead of your cpu.. There's an experimental OBS build if you wanna give that a shot and see how the quality compares.

You seem to be dropping a little bit of frames at 2200 bitrate so consider trying other twitch ingests or lowering your bitrate.
