I'm an Age of Empires 2 streamer. This is a rather old game (almost 15 years) and it runs at a maximum of 20 FPS.
The game runs on my computer at 1080p (thanks to a WideScreen Patch) but I need to downscale it to 864p while streaming, because the bitrate required for the Source Resolution would be too high for many of my viewers. I have 5mb upload, but stream at 2800 bitrate to make sure everyone can watch my stream.
Now what I wonder is which CPU preset should I use.
I have a strong CPU (i7 4770K @4.4GHz) and I can even handle preset=placebo. But is having the slowest preset possible always the best solution?
