Hi I'm getting stuttering on my OBS stream, I don't have good internet and my bitrate is 480, my CPU is an amd fx 8320 and I would like to know if ultrafast preset is for ultrafast CPUs, or doesn't put a lot of tax on your system, help would be appreciated

I have an AMD FX-8350 and I set mine to veryfast. Anything higher taxes your system a lot, and there's really no need to go any higher than this

Ultrafast is the preset for best performance but it has aweful quality. veryfast is usually the best setting to use.

Please post a log of a streaming session, otherwise it's hard to see what your problem is, the CPU should at least handle 480p fine enough (720p is not even remotely possible with that small bitrate).

I ran an OBS Stream Estimator and this is what it came up with... Assuming you have a decent to great graphics cards as well.

CPU Advice
  • Set FPS to 25
Game Advice
  • Try to aim for the highest bitrate possible for high motion games
  • Use game capture if possible for maximum performance.
  • Use window capture with Aero enabled if game capture is unavailable.
Network Advice
  • Due to your low upload speed, aim for a low resolution such as 480p
  • Considering lowering your buffer size and/or bitrate if you experience in-game latency
  • Enable CFR for compatibility with streaming services
  • Enable CBR for improved stream stability
  • Recommended max bitrate: 408
  • Recommended buffer size: 244
