CPU management, will GPU help?

Hello,

We've been getting to grips with OBS over the last few months to live stream into Zoom, but are having to be careful with CPU usage and are typically running at 90% plus.

We use projector windows to preview 2 scenes and the multiview window as the main scene switch tool. These are very helpful but really impact CPU so we have to keep their size smaller than I'd like. I'd also prefer a bit more CPU headroom, and wonder if the Zoom output is struggling because of it.

Hence I'm looking at adding a graphics card (currently there isn't one).

First question is will it help? Note we are not streaming and are not recording. Our output is the VirtualCam plugin.

Assuming yes, then what cards can you recommend for this application? We shouldn't spend any more than is necessary. Its a SFF machine. The display with all the above OBS scenes is 1080p.

Thank you in advance

PS sorry, I haven't got access to the machine to get a log file at the moment

SFF machines come in all flavor need to provide more hardware details to get any good recommendation, Running anything above 80% CPU usage is a no. If you want to spend $ 100 for video card my suggestion would be Nvidia Qudro P400 hope your power supply can handle it.
