CPU for filming / encoding in 1080p 24 fps ?

Hello,

Thank you for opening (and reading) this thread :)

I want to record simple "face cam" videos (with a Sony Alpha 6000) in Full HD (1920 x 1080) 24 FPS + record screen in screencast mode + be in the same time in video call with Zoom and all this by doing the "live editing" (without any post production) with OBS Studio.

At this moment, I don't need to strem but I need some CPU (and GPU?) power because I'd like the final video to be high quality, almost as if I had directly recorded in the memory card of the Sony A6000 when in reality the signal was sent to the PC and OBS did the editing + encoding of the video.

I should clarify that I'm not a gamer (I don't need the same power as a video game player) but a simple little content creator who makes screen-cast tutorials and face-camera videos and who doesn't want to do post-production editing, but "live editing" thanks to OBS.

On the other hand, I may soon have to live stream (via OBS) my videos captured while Zoom is running, which I use to inlay another Zoom conference participant's camera.

I have tested with 3 computers and (even without opening Zoom in parallel) I can't get a smooth video with quality rendering. By setting to x264 (encoder) and "veryfast" (CPU usage preset) I get a smooth video but not usable because of the image quality...

I have tested with 3 configs, from the worst to the best :

1. NUC DC3217IYE with Intel i3-3217U as processor (score 1178 for this CPU according to cpubenchmark.net) and Intel HD 4000 as integrated graphics card, which has a videocardbenchmark.net score of 330.

2. Surface Pro 3 with Intel i5-4300U as processor (score 2485 for this CPU according to cpubenchmark.net) and Intel HD 4400 as integrated graphics card, which has a videocardbenchmark.net score of 526.

3. Dell XPS with Intel i7-6560U as processor (score 3415 for this CPU according to cpubenchmark.net) and Intel Iris 540 as integrated graphics card, which has a videocardbenchmark.net score of 1232.

This 3rd configuration is the best but not enough...

I plan to buy (second hand) this config :

4. NUC 10i7FNK2 with Intel i7-10710U as CPU (score 10097 for this CPU according to cpubenchmark.net) and Intel UHD Graphics 620 as integrated graphics card, which has a videocardbenchmark.net score of 1052.

I wonder if this CPU 3x more powerful (?) than the i7-6560U will do the trick.

As you may have noticed, all these configs are "portable" (for laptop) technologies, so here's my question: do I have to completely forget a "mini PC" type config to do what I want to do, as explained in the intro of my message?

Must I absolutely switch to a bigger PC, with a "real" graphics card and a much more powerful CPU, like the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (score 17870 for this CPU according to cpubenchmark.net) to be sure?
