Hi all,
currently I use a 2 PC Configuration via nginx. I stream from my main PC with Intel Quicksync at 30000kbit/s to my rendering PC. In this PC a i5 2300 @ 2,8GHz is used.

I use a bitrate of 3500kbit/s. The best quality i get with 720p downscale an veryfast preset. The CPU can't handle more ;)

I mainly play high motion games, so is streaming in 1080p even recommended?
What CPU can you recommend, that can handle 1080p/720p at fast preset or better?

Thanks in advance ;)

I would not even consider 1080p with 3500 bitrate for high motion game. It will look very blurry and have lot of pixelation. Take a look at my signature and included reddit post.
I think i5 3570k is minimum for your needs, I would go for max you can put in socket 1155 and suggest 3770k, unless you want to buy a new platform. If you have a right chipset on your current mobo you could overclock them easily and torture with more slower presets.

ok, then i'll stay at 720p ;)
I have a i7 3770K OCed to 4,7GHz in my Main PC. What could this CPU handle?
It doesn't really matter what I7 generation I should get, because they don't differ in costs pretty much.
The Question what Frequency is minimum an what is overkill ;)

No problem to test it if you have one already. You can more less simulate cpu load of a stream setting up recording of your desktop at 30k , changing presets and observing cpu load. This should give you pretty good idea

I just tried something: I played a previously recorded HQ Gameplay and recorded it via Monitor Capture @ 3500k. It works until "Medium", when I try "slow" I get an Overload Message. Slow could work if there is no other stuff for the CPU to do.
But in comparisson to "veryfast", "medium" has much more quality ;)
So I think i have to get a second I7 :/
