Hey everyone, i've really wanted to stream on a consistent basis for the past year now. The only problem is that I play Counter-Strike 95% of the time, and from the way it feels like while streaming, I just can't play it comfortably.
Specs:
Motherboard- MSI Z97
Intel i7 4790k
Nvidia Geforce GTX 980
Now when I stream other games, they feel completely fine. I maintain high FPS while streaming and feel no choppiness. But when it comes to Counter-Strike, I actually don't drop a lot of frames. When I play without OBS I run around 300 fps and when I stream, i'm getting about 250. Even when I put the game on max_fps 144, it still feels TERRIBLE. So I know that it's not a problem in the game, but something that has to do with OBS. Even when i'm on a simple aim map with 800 fps, when I open obs and still have around 700 fps, it feels like i'm playing on a 60hz monitor. Which i'm not, I have a 144hz. The point that i'm trying to get across is that I have a very good setup, and obs works perfectly for every single game besides Counter-Strike, my favorite game. I don't feel like I can build a viewership if I stream for an hour or two every week, playing different games. Hopefully you guys can help me.
Just a quick note, I am using game capture for every single game that I play.
The settings that i'm using in OBS Studio are:
Video Bitrate: 2000
Encoder: x264
Audio Bitrate: 160
Encoder Preset- ultrafast
Base Res- 1920x1080
Output Res- 1280x720
Downscale Filter- Bilinear
Common FPS Values- 30
Process Priority- Normal
Renderer- Direct3D 11
Color Format- NV12
