Error: Could not initialize DirectX 10 on NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M. This error can happen for one of the following reasons:

1.) Your GPU is not supported (DirectX 10 is required - note that many integrated laptop GPUs do not support DX10)
2.) You're running Windows Vista without the "Platform Update"
3.) Your video card drivers are out of date

If you are using a laptop with NVIDIA Optimus or AMD Switchable Graphics, make sure OBS is set to run on the high performance GPU in your driver settings.

I have been in the process of getting OBS set up for my laptop (Lenovo Y50). The farthest I have gotten so far, is streaming a quarter of a window. I had OBS working at that point then this error randomly began happening after disconnecting my laptop from it's second screen.

Can someone help with this error, and speak to the 25% screen problem I had as well? Thank you so much in Advance!

P.S. I believe I have updated DirectX, and my NVIDIA Drivers are up to date (version 358.50).

Did you actually set OBS to run on the nvidia gpu in the nvidia control panel?

Yes, thanks for a response. I can confirm it's set to run on nvidia chip.

Try installing the directx components using https://obsproject.com/downloads/dxwebsetup.exe

Hey, this is not only still not working, but when I try to preview a stream of a game, the game crashes and I can't re-enter the game without uninstalling/reinstalling my Nvidiia drivers. Please help.
