Bug Report Could not create D3D10

Hey after I set everything up and try to preview my stream I get this error.

Could not create D3D10 device and swap chain. This error can happen for one of the following reason:
1.) You're using an old or unsupported GPU (some laptops GPUs can also have this issue)
2.) You're running windoews vista without the "Platform Update"
3.) I screwed something up somewhere

I have updated my drivers and have NVIDIA GeForce GT 435M
Is my GPU not supported or is there something else I could try, my computer is about 2 years old. Thanks :D

Could you explain a bit more as to what you are doing? You've created a scene, added a source, and it's just a black screen when you preview? Are you using Game Capture, Software Capture? Are you running Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8?

It certainly can't hurt to update Direct X either, if that ends up being the problem: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... aspx?id=35

I create a scene add software capture to my monitor and when I preview it's just a black screen. It detects sound and mic though I'm on windows 7

I'm not entirely sure. I think someone more experienced than myself will have to help you out.

The only thing I can suggest, is if you're using monitor capture, you need to disable areo. There should be an option in OBS's Settings, under Video, to disable it on start. You'll have to restart OBS afterward. Other than that, I'm not really sure what else to say.

The forums search feature is failing me. :p

What do ya know :D it worked ^^ how can I have it show only the game?
Actaully I ahve that working but how do I have it so if things pop up on it it doesn't block :)

For that, you'll have to use Window capture, and have areo enabled, if you plan on sticking with Software capture. However, I'd suggest using Game Capture instead. It will only capture your game, and it's much faster than software capture. If using game capture, be aware that you'll have to use either the 32bit version for 32bit games, or the 64bit version for 64bit games.

Both versions should be included in the download. If you used the installer, there should be a 32bit and 64bit folder in the directory it was installed in.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure if The Binding of Isaac will work with game capture. You might have to use Window Capture for that.

Hmm it seems you're right, binding of isaac as well as project 64 dont' appear on the list for game capture
you said in window capture in order to just see the game I need aero but that causes it to be black screen? also inner or outer window does that just mean with or without border?

In Software Capture's Properties, there is Window Capture, Monitor Capture, and Sub-Region Capture. In order to use Monitor Capture, you have to disable Areo. But with Window Capture, It can work with or without Areo. Areo just allows OBS to capture a specific window without other windows overlaying it. Window Capture will work just fine without Areo, It's just if you alt-tab out of Binding of Isaac, and another window is on top of it, It'll capture that window as well. But with Areo enabled, capturing just Binding of Isaac, It should only capture that, and not any windows on top, if there happens to be windows on top of it. If that makes sense. :p

I want to see the game without having other programs overlap on top of it but when I turn aero on it is the black screen :P I've got it working to capture the program but it's not my full screen it's a window, is there a way to get it to fill the entire screen?

Game Capture only works with DirectX 9 and higher, or OpenGL.

Binding of Isaac is apparently programmed in Flash, and for Project 64 you need to make sure the graphics plugin is DirectX 9. I actually prefer to use 1964 emulator with the new DirectX 9 plugin (Just checked and Game Capture captures Ocarina of Time without a hitch)
