Description single camera set up for live streaming a presentation shown on YouTube.

A single camera set up
A Sony HXR-NX5U connected with AJA U-Tap SDI to Laptop

Specs:for Laptop
Asus republic of gamers G751JT-DB73
Processor: Intel Core i7 4720HQ CPU @2.60 ghz 2.59 Ghz
Installed memory 16GB (Ram DDR3L 8GB * 2)
HDD 1TB 72R + 256G PCIEG2 SSD
Windows 8.1
64bits
LCD 17.4
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M:)

Problem:
I'm struggling to understand Why it still picks up everything shown on the display (time code etc), but I thought it would only record what's in front of the camera, I'm a little confused why that is the case?

Things we tried to address problem
We did as a last resort turned off everything displayed on the LED monitor of the camera, however the only thing shown is REC or standby. In addition to recording on the laptop we are recording from the camera as backup as a precaution. I figure that as a safety on the off chance obs is not recording the recorded camera would be back up.. but I"m learning that it could be a problem as obs will pick up the REC or STBY display.

Question
What's the best way to resolve the display issue?

Problem resolved, The NX5U has a camera setting you can go in to turn off the display (Display menu where you need to turn from all output to LCD display)
